For their debut album on Westbound Records in 1975, Fantastic Four skipped getting hired to score a grimy crime film (which were popular at the time) and instead invented their own story. Thus, Alvin Stone (The Birth And Death Of A Gangster) was born, replacing the traditional soul of the Fantastic Four’s classic Ric Tic 45s with a new, cinematic attitude and sound. Spawning a hit with the title track, Fantastic Four reached ears and dancefloors across the nation. The sophistication of the arrangements and the group’s impeccable taste in melody and harmony create a perfect blend no matter what the scene demands.
